Summary

The hoard was found in a ceramic 'piggybank' and comprised 3 cistophorii from the mint of Asia and 402 denarii (including one ancient copy). Following x-ray and the use of endoscopy, the coins were removed through the slot in the moneybox by a conservator at Side Archaeology Museum, S. Okumuş Tek and technician Z. Avcu. The hoard was found in a deep trench in the north eastern carpark during the excavation of the Late Antique Baths
