Gold bracelet
Part of a gold bracelet bearing a rather complicated decoration, executed in repoussé, with a strong relief. The base consists of a regular seedling of rosettes with four elongated leaves. These rosettes are arranged so that their leaves form the frames of small diamond-shaped compartments, simulating three horizontal bands. In the middle band, these compartments are filled with seven rather roughly rendered hairless heads. The eyebrows and eyes have been drawn back; the mouths are made alternately with a stroke of a burin and two strokes of the pearl. The other diamonds are occupied in turn by baskets of fruit, rabbits, bunches of grapes and birds. These subjects, placed in pairs above and below the heads, face each other in opposite directions, so as to always have the lower edge or the upper edge of the bracelet as a base. Rabbits and bunches of grapes are repeated twice. Eighteen palm leaves complete the decoration. The heart of each rosette located on the top of the compartment lines returns to the field of the heads with the help of four small palmettes indicated in engraving, which form like the petals of an open flower of which the heart of the rosette would be the center. On the edges, the metal is slightly folded so as to form a border decorated with a regularly repeated line. At each end, there is a small opening in which a hinge pin fits.
