Rolled gold band
Rolled gold band, without traces of welding, covered with reliefs obtained by repoussé. There are eight medallions separated from each other, from axis to axis, by a space of 4.8 cm. They alternately contain a lion's muzzle and a beardless human head, so that there are four men's heads and four lion's muzzles. The first ones are placed in a round frame surrounded by a rounded scalloping; the frames of the seconds are edged with a pointed scalloping and each point, at its base, is accosted by two pearls. Above and below each of the medallions is placed a little winged Cupidon sitting on the edge of a basket. These cupids are arranged in such a way that the bases of the baskets rest on the lower border and on the upper border of the band. Thus, among these cupids, some are placed in the direction of the heads of the medallions, others with their backs to them. The interval between each medallion is filled by two arches open in opposite directions and approaching by their summits; they take the form of two back-to-back amazon shields (peltae); they are edged with line pearls. Under each arch is a bust, either bearded or hairless. The flattening state in which the headband is located does not make it possible to recognize the heads, with the exception of one which is bearded and has very visible horns: Jupiter - Ammon. Small rabbits occupy the free spaces between the arches and the medallions. The borders consist of a twist held between two sticks. The pearls are made with the perloir. Several details were made by a chisel, in particular the hair and beards as well as the hair of the rabbits.
