Silver small plate
Small plate with low annular base. The bottom is flat, slightly hollow compared to the convex body. The body, bordered by a moulding in low relief, has an outer curved lip.
The bottom, delimited by a clean groove, is connected to the body by a concave projection. On the reverse, several grooves emphasize the passage from the bottom to the rim and the outer limit of the latter.
The decoration consists of a frieze of reliefs on the body; four Bacchic heads (a-d) divide into equal sectors between which rustic scenes.
Four graffiti are visible on the reverse: an indication of weight (a) and two names (b - c) on the inside of the foot, a name under the rim (d):
a - weight indication in dotted letters between two palms. P (ondo) sowing uncia scripula (quinque), i.e. 183.04 g.
b- very fine graffiti at the tip: TAVRAV[
c- a graffiti engraved at the tip, made of tangled, irregular and roughly traced letters: SECI[
d- finely engraved at the tip graffiti, fairly carefully drawn: COCNCO [
